I attended the University of Washington during my degree in biology. Because of my academic background, I understand what students are going through when they struggle to learn something. I've gone through this myself, and I've developed the ability to learn effectively and efficiently. I can show you how to see concepts in different ways as well as how to find your own path to understanding. Once you can look at topics using the perspective that works for you best, the information will be retained more naturally. My experience includes mentoring students from lower income backgrounds, researching biochemistry as an undergraduate, and volunteer work. I've also tutored privately to help students learn biochemistry, beginning and advanced biology topics, organic chemistry, and others. I also enjoy helping students develop test taking skills and strategies for IB biology, AP biology, the MCAT, and other standardized exams. As someone who made the transition from community college to university, I can also help students work through the transition and adjust to college life. When I have free time, I enjoy playing the guitar and getting out for a run.
